How does the encryption work?
Your notes are encrypted on your device with a key only your PIN can unseal. Our servers receive scrambled text. We can see that it's there, but we can't read it.
What if I forget my PIN?
When you set up, you get 10 single-use recovery codes. Any one of them unlocks your notes so you can set a new PIN. Keep them somewhere safe. We can't reset your PIN for you.
Is there a Mac or iPhone app?
Not yet, they're planned. Today Dim Notes runs in any browser, and on Windows and Linux. Android is coming soon.
Will you add AI features?
Never in the cloud. Anything AI-powered, like dictation, runs on your own device.
Can I take my notes with me?
Yes, on every plan. Export to Markdown, plain text or PDF whenever you want.
