Terms of Service

Dim Notes is operated by Hidden Noxen, a company registered in the Cayman Islands. When these terms say "we", "us", or "our", they mean Hidden Noxen. When they say "you" or "your", they mean you — the person using the service.

Dim Notes is a private notes application. It lets you create, organise, and protect notes behind a PIN or authentication code, accessible on the web, iOS, Android, and desktop.

We offer two tiers:

• —Free — unlimited notes (50MB storage), plain text editor, core security features
• —Pro — unlimited notes, folders, tags, rich text editor, custom auto-lock, file attachments. $4.99/month or $39.99/year

We reserve the right to change features, pricing, or limits with reasonable notice. We will always notify existing paying subscribers before any price changes affect them.

To use Dim Notes you must create an account. You agree to:

• —Be at least 13 years old (16 in the European Economic Area)
• —Provide accurate information when signing up
• —Keep your password and unlock credentials (PIN, TOTP) secure
• —Not share your account with others
• —Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you lose access to your unlock method and your recovery codes, we cannot recover your account for you — this is by design. Keep your recovery codes somewhere safe.

Locked out of your account? We are unable to unlock accounts or reset unlock credentials (PIN, TOTP, recovery codes) on your behalf. Because we do not collect identity documents or personal identifying information beyond your email address, we have no reliable way to verify that a support request genuinely comes from the account owner. Granting access based on an unverifiable claim would be a security risk to you and to other users. This is a deliberate design decision that reflects our commitment to privacy. We strongly recommend saving your recovery codes somewhere secure when you set up your account.

You own your notes. We don't claim any rights over the content you create in Dim Notes.

By using the service, you grant us the limited right to store and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not use your content for any other purpose.

You are responsible for the content you store. You agree not to use Dim Notes to:

• —Store or distribute illegal content of any kind
• —Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
• —Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or systems
• —Interfere with the service or its infrastructure
• —Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the service

Pro subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. Payments are processed by Paddle, who acts as the merchant of record. Paddle's terms and privacy policy apply to all payment transactions.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time from within the app settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access to Pro features until then.

Refunds

If you are unsatisfied with Dim Notes, contact us within 14 days of your initial purchase at support@dimnotes.com and we will issue a full refund. After 14 days, no refunds will be issued. Subscription renewals are non-refundable — if you cancel, you retain access to Pro until the end of your current billing period, after which your account reverts to the free tier. No partial refunds are issued for unused time.

Taxes

Paddle calculates and remits applicable taxes (VAT, GST, sales tax) on our behalf. The price you see at checkout is the final price inclusive of applicable tax.

We aim to keep Dim Notes running reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The service is provided "as is". We are not liable for downtime, data loss caused by technical failures, or any other service interruption.

We strongly recommend exporting your notes regularly as a backup. You can do this at any time from within the app.

You can delete your account at any time at dimnotes.com/delete-account. All your data will be permanently deleted immediately.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in abuse or illegal activity, or cause harm to the service or other users. In non-urgent cases, we will give notice before taking action.

If we decide to shut down Dim Notes entirely, we will give at least 30 days' notice by email and provide a way for you to export all your data before closure.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hidden Noxen is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Dim Notes — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of business opportunity.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Dim Notes is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, secure, or continuously available.

While we take security seriously — including PIN protection, encrypted storage, and secure session management — no system is perfectly secure. You use the service at your own risk.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Cayman Islands. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Cayman Islands, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection law in your country.

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

If you do not agree to updated terms, you may delete your account before they take effect.
